The Founder, Joe Foggia's Story...
Mr. Foggia grew up as an avid water sports enthusiast in Lake Oswego, the Columbia River, and the pristine Oregon Coast. At age 15, he started working at Christensen Shipyards under the mentorship of the late founder, Dave Christensen (his stepfather), as a general laborer in various construction crafts. In 1990, Joe transitioned into yacht construction and administration management, planning, estimating, and purchasing, before moving to project management over many yachts. Joe continued to move the ranks, and in 1997, he became Vice President of Operations. Dave Christensen named Joe President and Sales Director of Christensen in 2001; Joe remained in this role until 2014. During his time at Christensen, Joe successfully guided the shipyard through multiple recessions, numerous yacht product changes and refinements, and added a system of total quality control, all of which helped the yard earn the highest ranks in U.S. pedigree and sales for 2012, 2013, and 2014.
This Un-Equaled construction knowledge, along with his experience in shipyard ownership and yacht sales acumen gained from negotiating with the world's savviest businesspeople, fuels Global Yacht Advisors, LLC's passion and ability to establish everlasting relationships with the world’s most discerning yacht enthusiasts.
